REAR UPPER SHOCK CROSSMEMBER
This rear upper shock crossmember is used when relocating the upper shock mounts inside of the frame rails, which is typical when widening the rear wheel tubs. The crossmember is located between the rear wheel tubs. It should be mounted through the trunk floorpan to provide additional shock travel when ride height is lower than stock. This C-section crossmember is made from 1/8" steel. It adds additional structural integrity to the rear subframe and provides the necessary mounting for inboard upper shock mounts. It can be used on either staggered or non-staggered shock mounting.
Note: This rear upper shock crossmember is used with the Mini-Tub Kit. This is different from the crossmember used in the QUADRA Link kit.
The 1967 Camaro/Firebird uses a non-staggered rear shock mounting. Non-staggered shocks are mounted on the same (front) side of the rear axle. 1968-1969 Camaro/Firebird and 1968 - 1974 Nova's use staggered rear shock mounting. Staggered shocks are mounted on opposite sides of the rear axle.
